Last year, GRID was at existential risk. Revenue from Calculator Studio had stalled, costs outpaced revenue, and we were running out of money.

A good part of the year was spent on strategic conversations with various parties, ranging from partnerships to M&A and even asset sales. Some came close, but none of them panned out.

At least not the way we had planned.

The conversations helped us understand how we could best bring the value of our spreadsheet tech to a market going through rapid transformation because of AI. We pivoted from product-led B2B to tech licensing. From aiming for tens of thousands of customers to a target group of a few dozen.

With the hard work and endurance of an amazing team (and a short-term loan from our investors) we got through the year, running on fumes.

Then, all of a sudden everything came together, all at once. We’ve signed a handful of exciting customers - some of them household names - working on cutting edge solutions in our field.

This morning we celebrated having secured enough revenue to be (significantly) profitable in 2026, so we opened the “Cash-Flow Positive” bottle of sparkling … with seven months still to go.

The licensing bet is working. In a world being rebuilt around AI, a great independent spreadsheet engine is exactly what the best teams need. And we have a front-row seat to where this market is headed.
